Just need to be rewired, and have the seat raised another inch or so. And she'll be ready for the tear down to paint the frame.

Please keep us posted about the resolution of your charging issues.  I haven't ridden my G3 in two years because it instantly pops the bulbs.  What puzzles me about that is that I ran it, hard, for a couple of years with no battery or capacitor, and no problems. :umm: :violin:

Yeah, let Mark do a little redesign for you.  The battery probably charges through a half wave rectifier, so the RMS voltage on the bulbs is much less without a battery.  On my DT100 I made a 6v regulator to keep my hard to find and expensive 6v headlight from blowing.  Future plans are to go to LEDs with drivers that are not very voltage sensitive.

JIM, THATS EXACLTY WHAT IT IS. I have a 6v shunting regulator that should work for dave. seems like it cooked his last capacitor pretty quick.

Hey Mark, you think any shunt regulator will do the trick? I can make my own if it comes down to it

Tagging, the bike through Vermont on Monday. Pretty excited. For the time being I'm just adding a battery below the seat. Just ordering a total of 30 accessorie and headlight bulbs. Lol got a good deal so why not.  Need some advice on tire sizes though. I'm currently running 3.00-18. I want to run 3.25 - 18 knobs with the fender all around. Anyone ever done this?
