I must be losing my mind...a 4 stroke came home with me today. Be quiet
Wasn't really looking for one, but the price was too good to turn down.  Been sitting since `83

Sweet! Its unusual enough that we cant fault you.. not like you went and got a GSXR-600 or something.
Whats the plan with that rig?

GTL!

I had one of those, it was given to me in boxes.  Some amateur had pulled it apart and didn't know how to put it back together.  And I mean pulled apart, the carbs were fully stripped, the headlight, everything.

Ordered a manual for it which took so long to arrive I had already put the engine back together and had it running, only to have a look at the book and find out there were a lot of engine parts missing.

Such an awful bike that I had a soft spot for it, ended up selling it for a carton of Coopers and the guy used the front end off it for a track bike and turned the rest into a gokart for his kids.

I'm not sure if Ducati own up to building them anymore.

Nice bike, have fun with it!

Wowza, a non-desmo Ducati, worth it just for the kitsch value alone.  Kinda like riding an Aermacchi HD to a modern HD boutique just to baffle everyone.

Yes, they are the most crap-tastic bike Ducati ever produced, but still unique in their own right!

My friend has a massive collection of old Ducati singles and he just stopped by to look at it and said, "the bike is so clean, It makes up for the crap factor...it would look good in my collection if you decide you don't want to keep it"

The funny part was the clutch cable is broken on this bike, and he whips out a new clutch cable, hands me a service/parts manual for the bike.

But it IS a desmo! "500 sport desmo" the ducati guys hated this thing, kind of like porsche purists hated the 944-951-928.
Fuck 'em. I want one, looks like fun.

It Lives! She's no RD but it is fun to ride.  Doesn't vibrate nearly as much as all the hype I've read in the interwebs stated.
No, it's not the fastest 500 twin I have thrown a leg over, but the Italian sound and vibe make up for it. It's weird and clean enough to keep in the stable High Five
